RELIEF FOR SYRIA
EMERGENCY EARTHQUAKE APPEAL
There are no words to describe the devastation brought by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey at 4:17am this morning. The earthquake was 12.5 times stronger than the Northridge earthquake, bringing devastation to an already fragile region. Since the earthquake struck the Turkish-Syrian border, the areas we service in Northwest Syria are some of the hardest hit. In the hospitals we support, the bodies of children are piling up. Unfortunately, the numbers will be more devastating when the sun rises. The death toll is already in the thousands and rapidly rising.
While many of the roads into Northern Syria have been destroyed, our ongoing work over the last 7 years has provided us with deep knowledge of the area and strong connections to the local population. As a result, our network and supply chain remain functional.
We can help.
We are sending several emergency aid shipments to the hospitals we support all across Idlib. Supplies are dwindling since already scarce resources are being allocated to this catastrophe. Syrian families need us now more than ever. Please donate today to help save as many children as we can and to support those who escaped this horrifying tragedy.
We also call on all our institutional partners who have stayed steadfast in their support for Save the Syrian Children’s work. Last year alone, your support helped us deliver over 1.3 million pounds of medical and humanitarian supplies. We urgently ask for your partnership to allocate resources and supplies to Syria today so we can save lives together.
